D Z Strad Cello Model 1100

About the D Z Strad Cello Model 1100

The Model 1100's position near the top of D Z Strad's numbered range means the most careful tonewood selection, aging, and hand-finishing attention the brand applies across its production line, aimed at serious professional and advanced conservatory players rather than students. Being full-size (4/4) only reflects that its target player has already progressed past the fractional-size considerations relevant to younger students.

D Z Strad's numbered model system lets a buyer understand roughly where an instrument sits in the brand's quality hierarchy just from the model number, and the 1100 represents a genuinely top-tier offering within that system - the practical ceiling of what the brand's standard handmade production line offers before moving into fully bespoke commission territory.

Sound character of the D Z Strad Cello Model 1100

As one of the highest tiers in D Z Strad's numbered range, the Model 1100 receives the most careful tonewood selection, aging, and hand-finishing the brand applies short of a full bespoke commission - the result is a warm, richly resonant, full-bodied tone with the overtone complexity that individually voiced, well-aged tonewood produces, well beyond the simpler sound of the brand's factory-built entry models.
