D Z Strad Double Bass Model 100 (1/2)

About the D Z Strad Double Bass Model 100 (1/2)

Double bass sizing matters more dramatically than with smaller string instruments, since a full-size bass demands considerable height and reach just to manage the instrument physically - a 1/2 size like this Model 100 makes the instrument genuinely playable for a smaller-framed or younger student rather than forcing them onto an instrument too large to handle comfortably. As the entry point in D Z Strad's numbered bass line, it prioritizes solid, reliable construction for a genuine beginner over the tonal refinement of the brand's higher-tier models.

Starting on a properly sized bass matters for developing correct left-hand position and bow technique, avoiding the strain and compromised technique that comes from a student stretching to manage an instrument that doesn't yet fit their physical proportions.
