Baldwin Model M

About the Baldwin Model M

Baldwin built its reputation over more than a century as a leading American piano manufacturer, and the Model M represents one of the brand's most popular size offerings - large enough for genuine grand piano tone and touch, compact enough to fit comfortably in a well-appointed home or teaching studio rather than requiring a dedicated performance space. Baldwin pianos have historically been associated with a warm, singing tone favored by American classical and jazz pianists alike.

As with many pianos changing hands on the used market, this listing's inclusion of free in-home delivery and setup reflects a practical reality of grand piano ownership - moving and properly setting up an instrument this size requires specialized equipment and expertise that a typical buyer can't handle alone, making delivery service a meaningful part of the purchase itself.

Sound character of the Baldwin Model M

Baldwin's mid-size Model M carries the brand's traditionally warm, rounded American voicing - a fuller, less brilliant tone than Yamaha's brighter house sound - with enough soundboard area at its roughly 5'2" length for solid sustain without the full bass extension of Baldwin's larger grands.
