About the Hohner Corona II (G/C/F)

This Corona II carries the identical 31-treble, 12-bass, three-row build as the F/Bb/Eb version aimed at Tex-Mex players, but tuned to G/C/F for Irish traditional, Cajun and general folk repertoire instead. The wooden fingerboard and noise-damping button technology that distinguish the Corona II from Hohner's entry Panther apply equally regardless of tuning, giving G/C/F players the same build-quality step up that Tex-Mex musicians get from the F/Bb/Eb version.

At around 9 lbs, it remains light despite the upgraded construction, positioned as the workhorse tier for serious folk and Cajun accordionists who've outgrown a Panther but don't yet need the Corona III's third reed voice.

Sound character of the Hohner Corona II (G/C/F)

The same 2/3 MM tremolo-tuned reed configuration as its F/Bb/Eb sibling, just pitched in G/C/F for Irish, Cajun and general folk repertoire - a step up in tonal shimmer and mechanical quiet (wooden fingerboard, noise-damped buttons) from the entry Panther, without the thicker three-voice Corona III sound.

Bright Airy Vintage-voiced

The history of the Hohner Corona II (G/C/F)

Hohner produces the Corona II in both G/C/F and F/Bb/Eb specifically because it serves as the standard step-up instrument across genuinely different folk traditions, each requiring its own fixed key combination.
