Hohner's flagship diatonic button accordion, adding a third treble reed voice (3/4 MMM configuration) over the Corona II for a fuller, more powerful sound aimed at professional Vallenato, norteno and Tex-Mex performers.
About the Hohner Corona III (G/C/F)
The Corona III keeps the Corona II's 31 treble and 12 bass buttons across three rows, but upgrades the reed configuration to 3/4 MMM - a third treble reed voice added to the two on the Corona II, producing a fuller, more harmonically rich tone favored by professional players in genres that demand cutting through a full band mix. Button spacing is slightly wider at 8 inches to support fast, precise technique at professional tempos.
Construction includes a celluloid-covered wooden keyboard for durability under heavy touring use, and Hohner's noise-damping button technology carried over from the Corona II. At 11 lbs it's heavier than the Corona II, reflecting the additional reed bank, and is explicitly positioned by Hohner as a professional-grade instrument for experienced musicians in Vallenato, norteno and Tex-Mex traditions rather than a step-up model for intermediate players.

Sound character of the Hohner Corona III (G/C/F)
Adding a third treble reed voice (3/4 MMM) over the Corona II's two, this flagship diatonic produces a noticeably thicker, more powerful buzz-tremolo tone - the extra reed rank is tuned to beat against the other two, the loud, dense sound favored by professional Vallenato and norteno performers who need to cut through a full band.
