An entry-level V-Drums kit from Roland upgrading the snare pad to the brand's V-Pad technology, giving a beginner a more realistic snare feel than the base TD-02K's simpler pad.
About the Roland TD-02KV
The TD-02KV's V-Pad snare uses a multi-layer mesh-style construction that responds more naturally to stick technique - including subtler dynamics like rim shots and cross-sticking - than the more basic pad found on the standard TD-02K, a meaningful upgrade specifically at the drum a player interacts with most during typical playing. Its TD-02 sound module carries Roland's V-Drums sound engine, drawing on decades of the company's electronic drum development.
As part of Roland's entry-level V-Drums range, the TD-02KV lets a beginner access Roland's established V-Drums brand and sound quality reputation, with the snare pad upgrade specifically targeting the one component where playing feel differences are most noticeable to a developing drummer's technique.

Sound character of the Roland TD-02KV
The sound is generated entirely by the TD-02 module's onboard samples rather than by the pads, which only affect stick feel - the V-Pad snare in particular is designed to feel more responsive than a basic rubber pad, but that only changes playing dynamics, not the sampled tone itself. As Roland's entry-level module, the TD-02 offers a smaller, less dynamically layered sample set than Roland's higher V-Drums tiers.
