Tama Superstar Classic (7pc with Hardware)

About the Tama Superstar Classic (7pc with Hardware)

This 7-piece configuration - four rack toms (8x7, 10x8, 12x9, 14x12), an 16x14 floor tom, a large 22x18 bass drum, and a 14x6.5 snare - gives a drummer far more tonal steps across the tom range than a standard 3- or 4-piece kit, suited to genres where extended tom fills and melodic tom work are central to the playing style. Sharing the same poplar shell construction and included hardware package found across the Superstar Classic line, this larger configuration doesn't sacrifice build consistency for size.

Bundling a full hardware package with a kit this large is a genuine practical convenience - a 7-piece setup with four rack toms requires substantially more stands and mounting hardware than a basic kit, and having that included removes a significant cost and compatibility puzzle a drummer would otherwise need to solve piece by piece.

Sound character of the Tama Superstar Classic (7pc with Hardware)

Poplar shells sit tonally between birch and mahogany - warmer than maple or birch but without extra low-end weight - giving a fairly neutral base tone here that the 7-piece configuration's extra rack toms then spread across a wide range of pitches, well suited to the layered fills common in rock and metal.
