Steinway & Sons Model B (Spirio | r, 2022)

About the Steinway & Sons Model B (Spirio | r, 2022)

The Model B's 211cm length has earned a reputation among many professional pianists as Steinway's most versatile size - large enough for genuine concert-grade tone and projection, yet more practical for recital halls, universities and serious home installations than the full 274cm Model D concert grand. Steinway's reputation for hand-crafted rim construction, hammer voicing and action regulation applies fully at this size, not just the flagship model.

The Spirio | r system adds Steinway's high-resolution player piano technology, capable of both flawlessly reproducing a performance's every dynamic nuance and recording a pianist's own playing with the same fidelity - a genuine dual-purpose addition for both passive listening and serious practice documentation, reflecting how even Steinway's most traditional instruments have incorporated modern technology without altering the acoustic piano itself.

Sound character of the Steinway & Sons Model B (Spirio | r, 2022)

The Model B's 211cm scale gives it genuine concert-grade bass resonance and sustain from its long strings and large soundboard, while Steinway's hand-hammered voicing and diaphragmatic soundboard design are tuned for a complex, singing tone with rich overtones rather than a flat, uniform brightness. The Spirio | r system reproduces or records performances with full dynamic fidelity but does not alter the acoustic tone itself.
