The Loar's top-tier F-style, described by the brand as a faithful replica of an original 1920s Gibson F-5: hand-carved figured maple back/sides, abalone flowerpot peghead inlay, and full ivory-colored binding.
About the The Loar LM-600
The LM-600 sits above The Loar's LM-590 and LM-520 in ornamentation and finish detail. Construction is solid hand-carved spruce over solid hand-carved figured maple back and sides on a one-piece maple neck with a rounded V profile, at a 13.91-inch scale and 1.125-inch nut width - but where the LM-520 uses simple pearl dots, the LM-600 carries a bound ebony fingerboard and an abalone-and-mother-of-pearl "flowerpot" peghead inlay, a direct visual reference to Lloyd Loar's original F-5 ornamentation from the 1920s.
Hardware includes Gotoh nickel-plated brass tuners with ivory-colored buttons, ivory-colored binding across body, neck and headstock, a bone nut, and a compensated adjustable ebony bridge. The standard finish is a hand-buffed black nitrocellulose lacquer (vintage sunburst is offered on some variants), and it ships in The Loar's featherweight case with an embroidered logo rather than a standard hard case.

Sound character of the The Loar LM-600
Shares the same bright, resonant hand-carved spruce/maple F-style foundation as The Loar's LM-590 and LM-520, but the bound ebony fingerboard (versus Padauk or rosewood on the cheaper models) gives a slightly crisper, more defined attack - the ornamentation that sets this model apart visually doesn't add tone, the fingerboard wood is the one audible difference.

The history of the The Loar LM-600
The LM-600 is explicitly marketed by The Loar as its most faithful reproduction of Lloyd Loar's 1920s Gibson F-5 design and ornamentation, aimed at bluegrass players who want that vintage look and construction philosophy without an actual pre-war instrument's price.
