About the Lyon & Healy Ogden
The Ogden is Lyon & Healy's smaller folk lever harp, built around a hard maple body with a Sitka spruce soundboard rather than the all-maple construction of some student instruments, chosen for a livelier top-end response. It carries 34 strings from 1st octave A to 6th octave C - fewer than the 40-string Prelude, keeping both size and weight down to 53 inches tall and 28 pounds without legs, making it noticeably easier to transport than a full-size lever or pedal harp.
Performance levers are fitted as standard rather than an upgrade option, letting every string be shifted a half-step for key changes mid-performance. It ships with 4-inch and 8-inch legs (for floor or tabletop playing), a tuning key and a carrying case included, and comes in natural, mahogany or ebony finishes - positioned by Lyon & Healy as suited equally to a beginning student and a working folk harper who needs to carry the instrument to gigs.

Sound character of the Lyon & Healy Ogden
The Ogden's hard maple body paired with a Sitka spruce soundboard gives a warm, balanced tone typical of maple-bodied folk harps, while its compact 34-string size keeps the sound intimate rather than powerful - suited to laps and small rooms rather than concert projection.
