Camac Athena

Availability: 0/10 (Very rare)
A 47-string professional pedal harp built with a maple body, spruce soundboard and beech neck/base, positioned as an accessible entry into full concert pedal harps rather than Camac's higher Concert Grand tier.
About the Camac Athena
The Athena is a full 47-string pedal harp - the same complete range (00G to 7C) as a top-tier orchestral instrument - built at a price point below Camac's flagship Concert Grand and Excalibur models, aimed at conservatory students and working harpists who need a genuine pedal harp without the cost of the company's top tier. Construction is maple for the body, spruce for the soundboard, and beech for the neck and base, standing 74 inches tall and weighing 80 pounds.
An extended-soundboard variant, the Athena EX, trades a small amount of the standard model's compactness for a larger soundboard area, which Camac and players report gives noticeably more carrying power and low-end richness - a common upgrade path within the same model line rather than a separate instrument. Standard finishes include mahogany, cherry, walnut, natural maple and ebony, backed by a 10-year warranty.

Sound character of the Camac Athena
As a full 47-string pedal harp with a maple body and spruce soundboard, the Athena delivers the rich, orchestral-scale resonance that only a full pedal harp's size and chromatic pedal mechanism can provide, though as Camac's entry point into pedal harps it doesn't carry quite the projection of the brand's flagship Concert Grand models.

The history of the Camac Athena
The Athena sits in Camac's core professional pedal harp range, aimed at the same conservatory and working-harpist market as Lyon & Healy's mid-tier pedal models, giving European and international harpists an alternative to the American-dominated pedal harp market.
