A six-string banjo (often called a banjitar or guitar-banjo) tuned and fretted like a guitar, letting guitarists play banjo tone using entirely familiar chord shapes rather than banjo's five-string open tunings.
About the Oscar Schmidt OB6
The OB6 shares its core construction with Oscar Schmidt's five-string OB5, but adds a sixth string and a wider 1-11/16-inch nut, tuned like a standard guitar (EADGBE) rather than the open-G-family tunings a traditional 5-string banjo uses. That makes it directly playable by any guitarist without learning new chord shapes or a re-entrant tuning - the banjo body simply changes the timbre of already-familiar guitar technique.
Construction is a nato neck with a mahogany resonator and multi-inlay rosewood fingerboard across 22 frets, a 30-bracket cast aluminum tone ring, and a Remo head, at a 26 1/4-inch scale. Both back and sides are mahogany with a gloss finish, and Oscar Schmidt markets it explicitly as appealing equally to guitarists wanting a banjo sound and banjo players wanting a more familiar six-string layout.

Sound character of the Oscar Schmidt OB6
This is a 6-string 'banjo guitar' tuned EADGBE like a standard guitar rather than open-G banjo tuning, aimed at guitarists crossing over. With no metal tone ring specified and an all-mahogany resonator/back/sides, it favors a warmer, rounder tone than a traditional metallic-ringing 5-string bluegrass banjo, closer to a guitar's chord voicing with banjo-style attack and shorter sustain.
