Availability: 2/10 (Very rare)
A compact 26-string lap harp from Rees Harps, pre-tuned diatonically in C major with sharping levers on select strings for the most commonly needed accidentals rather than full chromatic coverage.
About the Rees Sharpsicle
Unlike the fully chromatic Fullsicle, the Sharpsicle equips only its most musically useful strings with sharping levers, a deliberate cost and complexity trade-off aimed at players who mostly need diatonic major-scale playing with occasional access to common sharps rather than complete chromatic freedom. This makes it a genuinely simpler instrument to learn on while still offering meaningfully more flexibility than a purely diatonic harp with no levers at all.
As part of Rees's handmade USA lap harp family, the Sharpsicle shares its compact, lap-resting size and build quality with its Fullsicle and Flatsicle siblings, differing mainly in lever placement and default tuning - letting a buyer choose the exact balance of simplicity versus chromatic range that fits their playing goals.

Sound character of the Rees Sharpsicle
Built on the same compact 26-string body as Rees' other lap harps, the Sharpsicle shares their inherently bright, light timbre rather than the fuller resonance of a full-size harp. Its fixed diatonic C-major tuning (with levers only for the most common accidentals) means every combination of strings stays harmonically consonant, giving it a simpler, more settled character than a fully chromatic instrument.
