A mid-tier digital V-Accordion between the compact FR-1x and flagship FR-8x: full 120 velocity-sensitive bass buttons with a high-resolution bellows-pressure sensor and multiple right-hand play modes beyond standard accordion voicing.
About the Roland FR-3x
The FR-3x steps up from Roland's entry V-Accordions with a new bellows-pressure sensor offering higher resolution than the FR-1 series, plus a fine-adjustment resistance wheel letting a player tune how much physical resistance the bellows provides - closer to matching a specific acoustic accordion's feel. Both the piano-key and button-type versions share 120 velocity-sensitive bass buttons, a genuine full-size bass layout absent from the smaller FR-1x/FR-1XB.
Beyond standard accordion voicing, the FR-3x offers alternate right-hand modes including Free Bass, Orchestra Bass, Orchestra Chord, Minor 3rd, Bajan, Fifth, and regional Nordic/Finnish tuning layouts - a substantially deeper feature set than the entry V-Accordions, aimed at players who perform in varied folk traditions requiring different interval systems. 21 preset accordion sound sets plus 4 user sets, each with 14 treble and multiple bass/orchestra registers, and a rechargeable 10-cell AA battery pack (8 hours with speaker off) round out the instrument.

Sound character of the Roland FR-3x
Its high-resolution bellows-pressure sensor reads dynamic nuance more finely than entry V-Accordions, and multiple right-hand play modes (Free Bass, Orchestra Bass/Chord, Bajan, Fifth, Nordic) let it reproduce harmonic layouts and voicings well beyond a standard accordion's fixed Stradella bass, all through modeled rather than reed-based sound.
