An entry-level three-row diatonic button accordion tuned to F/Bb/Eb, the key combination favored in Tejano and norteno music, with 31 treble buttons and 12 bass buttons across two reed voices.
About the Hohner Compadre (F/Bb/Eb)
The Compadre is Hohner's budget diatonic button accordion, built with 31 treble-side buttons across three rows and 12 bass/chord buttons, using 2/3 MM reed configuration (two treble voices, three-reed bass). Unlike a piano accordion, a diatonic button accordion produces different notes on the push and pull of the bellows for each button - the specific F/Bb/Eb tuning here targets Tejano, Tex-Mex and norteno players, who rely on that particular key combination for the genre's characteristic repertoire.
At around 10 lbs, it's built for beginners and budget-conscious players rather than touring professionals, without the extra reed voices or register switches found on Hohner's step-up diatonic models like the Corona or Corona III. It ships with straps, a case, and a 90-day factory warranty, and is available in multiple colors alongside the F/Bb/Eb and other key variants.

Sound character of the Hohner Compadre (F/Bb/Eb)
This is a diatonic accordion: each button plays a different note on the push versus the draw of the bellows, unlike a piano accordion's fixed pitch per key. Its two reed sets per note (2/3 MM) are tuned slightly apart, producing the light tremolo shimmer typical of entry Tex-Mex diatonics rather than the thick, near-unison buzz of pricier three-voice models.

The history of the Hohner Compadre (F/Bb/Eb)
The Compadre sits at the entry point of Hohner's diatonic accordion range specifically aimed at the Latin American and Tejano music markets, where three-row diatonic button accordions in keys like F/Bb/Eb and G/C/F remain the dominant instrument choice over piano-style accordions.
