About the Hohner Hohnica 1304-RED
The 1304-RED sits under Hohner's Hohnica label, the company's budget line separate from its main Hohner-branded accordions, aimed at price-sensitive students and beginners. It carries 26 piano keys spanning B to C and 48 standard bass buttons with a 2/4 MM reed configuration - 2 treble voices and 4-reed bass - and 3 treble registers for basic tonal variation, though with no bass-side registers.
Hohner describes the reeds as tremolo-tuned, meaning two reeds per note are deliberately tuned slightly apart to create the warbling, chorused effect classically associated with accordion sound, rather than a cleaner single-reed tone. At 13 lbs, an improved key-action mechanism gives sturdier tactile response than the cheapest toy-grade accordions, and it ships with a gig bag and straps in a pearl red finish.

Sound character of the Hohner Hohnica 1304-RED
Its 2/4 MM reeds are tremolo-tuned - deliberately detuned slightly against each other - which gives even this budget student accordion the characteristic wavering, singing musette shimmer rather than a flat, single-pitch tone, though with less reed mass overall than full 41-key instruments.

The history of the Hohner Hohnica 1304-RED
The Hohnica sub-brand lets Hohner compete directly with Asian-made budget accordions on price while keeping its own name on a separate, more premium range, with the 1304-RED serving students who've outgrown a 12-bass entry instrument but aren't ready for a full 120-bass accordion.
