A paraphonic semi-modular analog synthesizer packing an extensive 56-point patch bay into an affordable, compact format, aimed at giving budget-conscious players genuine hands-on modular experimentation.
About the Behringer Neutron
Neutron's paraphonic design means its two oscillators can be played simultaneously with a shared filter and amplifier, producing a middle ground between monophonic and fully independent polyphonic voices - two notes can sound together, but they share certain sonic characteristics rather than being entirely separate voices. Its dense 56-point patch bay exposes far more of the internal signal path than most semi-modular synths at a comparable price, letting a player rewire oscillator, filter, envelope and modulation routing extensively.
Behringer built its reputation partly on offering feature-dense hardware at prices well below established competitors, and the Neutron reflects that strategy directly - genuinely deep patchability and dual-oscillator analog sound design at a price point that makes hands-on modular-style experimentation accessible to players who might otherwise be priced out of that hobby entirely.

Sound character of the Behringer Neutron
Neutron's two analog VCOs feed both a classic Moog-style ladder filter AND a Steiner-Parker multimode filter wired in series, an unusual dual-filter analog signal path that gives it a more complex, resonant, warm-yet-aggressive tone than synths with only one filter type, while its paraphonic design lets both oscillators share that same filter simultaneously.
