D Z Strad Viola Professional Model 1000

About the D Z Strad Viola Professional Model 1000

Unlike the numbered models below it that progress incrementally in quality, the Professional Model 1000 carries an explicit tier label rather than just a higher number, signaling D Z Strad's own positioning of this instrument as its top standard-production viola rather than simply another step in a continuous scale. This typically means the most carefully selected tonewood, aging, and hand-finishing the brand applies outside of full bespoke commission work.

For a professional violist or advanced conservatory student, the Professional Model 1000 represents D Z Strad's answer to what a serious performer needs from a production-line handmade instrument - the practical ceiling of the brand's standard offerings before moving into fully custom territory.

Sound character of the D Z Strad Viola Professional Model 1000

As D Z Strad's explicitly labeled professional flagship, the Model 1000 gets the most carefully selected tonewood, aging, and hand-finishing the brand applies outside bespoke commission work, producing a warm, full-bodied, richly resonant tone with the overtone complexity serious performers need from an instrument.
