Gold Tone's flagship-tier bluegrass banjo under the Mastertone-referencing name, with a flat-top brass tone ring, two-way adjustable truss rod and a ZeroGlide nut for reduced friction and improved tuning stability.
About the Gold Tone OB-150 Orange Blossom
The OB-150 uses an 11-inch flat-top brass tone ring on a three-ply maple rim - a heavier, more powerful tone-ring style than the rolled or tube rings on Gold Tone's entry banjos, aimed at replicating the cutting, bright "Gibson-style" bluegrass tone. A one-piece cast flange connects rim to the 14-inch maple resonator, and a two-way adjustable truss rod (rather than single-direction or no truss rod at all) lets the neck relief be corrected in either direction as the instrument settles.
A ZeroGlide nut - a low-friction synthetic nut material - reduces string binding at the nut for smoother tuning and better sustain than a standard bone or plastic nut. GT planetary tuners, a Terminator tailpiece, and vintage pearloid fingerboard inlays on rosewood complete the appointments, finished in vintage brown satin and shipped in a hardshell case.

Sound character of the Gold Tone OB-150 Orange Blossom
The Orange Blossom uses an 11-inch flat-top brass tone ring under a maple resonator - a Mastertone-style arrangement built specifically for a bright, cutting, sustain-heavy bluegrass tone. The ZeroGlide nut and two-way truss rod are setup features, but the ring/resonator combination is what drives its loud, ringing projection.

The history of the Gold Tone OB-150 Orange Blossom
The name Orange Blossom nods to the bluegrass standard "Orange Blossom Special," and Gold Tone built the OB-150 as its answer to vintage Gibson Mastertone-style banjos at a fraction of a real prewar instrument's cost, aimed at serious bluegrass players rather than beginners.
