About the Martin 000-15M
The 000-15M pairs Martin's Auditorium-size 000 body with all-solid mahogany construction throughout - top, back and sides - rather than the spruce-top/rosewood-back combination more common on Martin's higher-numbered series. Mahogany-top guitars are generally described as warmer and more midrange-focused than spruce-top instruments, with a quicker note decay that many players find suits recording and fingerstyle playing well. Bracing is non-scalloped spruce X-bracing, and the finish is a plain satin rather than gloss, keeping with the 15 Series' minimal-ornamentation approach.
The neck uses Martin's Modified Low Oval profile at a 1 11/16-inch nut width and the marginally longer 25.4-inch scale length shared across most Martin 000/D-body guitars. The East Indian rosewood fingerboard carries simple diamond-and-square abalone inlays, and nickel open-gear tuners complete the vintage-inspired but understated look. A softshell case is included as standard, with factory electronics offered as an option for players who want to plug in.

Sound character of the Martin 000-15M
Built entirely from mahogany - top, back, and sides - rather than the more common spruce-top combination, the 000-15M favors a warm, dry, midrange-focused tone over the brighter, more overtone-rich response a spruce top would give. The smaller 000 body size adds focus and note separation compared to a dreadnought, at the cost of some low-end volume.

The history of the Martin 000-15M
Martin's all-mahogany 15 Series dates back to 1939, built around the idea of a simpler, more affordable guitar without sacrificing all-solid-wood construction. The original 000-15 launched in 1999; in 2010 Martin revised the line and renamed it 000-15M (the "M" denoting the mahogany-specific spec set) alongside the larger dreadnought-body D-15M, giving players the same tonewood recipe in two body sizes.
