A semi-modular analog synthesizer that works fully patched internally out of the box, but exposes every stage of its signal path on a patch bay so a player can rewire and extend it into a larger modular system.
About the Moog Mother-32
Unlike a fully modular synthesizer that requires patch cables just to make sound, the Mother-32 ships pre-normalized - its oscillator, filter, envelope and other components are already internally connected in a standard synth signal path, so it plays immediately without any patching. Pulling a single patch cable into any of its 32 patch points breaks that internal connection at that stage, letting a player selectively rewire only the part of the signal path they want to experiment with.
This semi-modular design specifically serves as an entry point into modular synthesis - a player gets a genuinely capable standalone synth for everyday use, while the same instrument can grow into a functioning module within a larger Eurorack-format modular system as their interest and collection expand, without needing to buy an entirely separate modular voice from scratch.

Sound character of the Moog Mother-32
The Mother-32 runs a single analog VCO through Moog's classic 4-pole transistor ladder filter, the same filter design responsible for the fat, warm, resonant low end Moog synths are known for - its semi-modular patch bay lets that core tone be pushed into far more aggressive or unstable territory than a fixed-signal-path synth.
