About the Selmer Paris 52JU Series II Jubilee
The Series II design places its key touches closer to the body and directly under the player's hand, a compact layout Selmer engineered specifically for reduced hand travel during fast technical passages compared to the more spread-out keywork of earlier Selmer generations. Its yellow brass body tubes and keys, full-ribbed for durability, are voiced to resonate across the entire timbre spectrum rather than favoring particular registers.
Blued steel needle springs, treated leather pads with metal resonators, and an extensive set of adjustment screws - covering high F, G#, the F#/G# linkage, low C#, low B, side C and side Bb - give a technician fine control over the horn's response during setup. The 52JU's Jubilee honey-gold lacquer is one of five finish options Selmer offered on this Series II model, alongside matte lacquer, black lacquer, silver plate and gold plate.

Sound character of the Selmer Paris 52JU Series II Jubilee
The 52JU's full-ribbed yellow brass construction and keywork positioned close to the body stiffen the instrument against energy loss, giving a focused, resonant core tone typical of Selmer's Series II professional altos, paired here with the brighter projection of the stock S-80C mouthpiece.
