About the Fender American Ultra II Meteora Bass

The Meteora's distinctive parallelogram-inspired offset body, originally introduced as an electric guitar shape in 2018, is applied here to a bass built to Fender's American Ultra II specification: US construction, modern 'Ultra' neck contouring for comfort, and active electronics rather than a vintage-spec passive configuration. This combination sets it apart from Fender's more historically referential Precision and Jazz Bass lines, aiming at players wanting a visually distinct, modernized bass within Fender's top domestic manufacturing tier.

As part of the American Ultra II range, which sits above the Player and Professional II lines in Fender's US catalog, the Meteora Bass shares that generation's comfort-oriented neck profile and finish options while offering a body shape unrelated to any of Fender's classic bass silhouettes.

Sound character of the Fender American Ultra II Meteora Bass

Electronically this is the Ultra II Jazz Bass platform - Noiseless single-coils and an active Panorama preamp - in Fender's offset Meteora body shape. The body shape mainly affects ergonomics and upper-fret access rather than tone, so the sonic character (silent, modern, EQ-flexible) closely matches the standard Ultra II Jazz Bass.
