The 3/4-size edition of Stentor's Conservatoire, carrying the same carved flamed maple and Shellax varnish build as the full-size instrument, scaled for younger or smaller-framed advancing students.
About the Stentor 1550 Conservatoire (3/4)
This 3/4 Conservatoire uses the identical specification to the full 4/4 version - carved spruce top, carved flamed maple back and ribs, Stentor's own Shellax varnish, ebony fittings, inlaid purfling, synthetic gut strings and a composite tailpiece with four integrated fine-tuners - simply built to 3/4 proportions. It exists because Stentor, like most reputable step-up violin makers, offers its full build quality across fractional sizes rather than reserving genuine tonewood construction for full-size instruments alone.
A smaller player advancing beyond a basic Student-tier instrument gets the same tonal design intent and appointments as an adult player choosing the 4/4 Conservatoire, just scaled to fit their current hand and arm length - letting technique and instrument quality progress together rather than one waiting on the other.

Sound character of the Stentor 1550 Conservatoire (3/4)
This 3/4-size Conservatoire shares the better-selected, hand-finished solid tonewoods of its full-size sibling one tier above the Student line, giving smaller-framed players noticeably more resonance and warmth than an entry-level 3/4 student violin.
