A standard-run take on the same soundhole-free, ultra-thin hollowbody concept behind Tim Henson's TOD10N signature: solid Sitka spruce top over sapele back and sides, a nyatoh neck and walnut fingerboard, at a more accessible price.
About the Ibanez FRH10N
The FRH10N shares its fundamental design with Ibanez's Tim Henson signature model: a very thin hollow body, about 1 15/16 inches deep, shaped similarly to the FR electric series or a Telecaster, and built without a soundhole to resist feedback at performance volume. The top is solid Sitka spruce with black-and-white binding over fan-braced sapele back and sides, while the neck is nyatoh in a C profile with a flat 400mm (about 15.75-inch) radius, 22 frets and a slim 46mm bone nut on a walnut fingerboard.
Electronics are simpler than the signature model's, using an Ibanez T-bar under-saddle pickup paired with an Ibanez AHA-1 preamp (updated to the AEQ210T from 2025) powered by button-cell batteries, feeding a standard quarter-inch endpin jack. The bridge is a compensated bone saddle set in a walnut base, and gold classical-style tuners round out the hardware - the same core recipe as the TOD10N, without its signature inlay work and Henson-specific detailing.

Sound character of the Ibanez FRH10N
Built on the same soundhole-free, ultra-thin hollowbody concept as the TOD10N signature, the solid Sitka spruce top and sapele back/sides give it a tight, controlled tone rather than the open, resonant sustain of a traditional classical - the sound depends heavily on the under-saddle Ibanez pickup and AEQ210T preamp rather than natural acoustic projection.

The history of the Ibanez FRH10N
Ibanez developed the soundhole-free hollowbody concept for Tim Henson's TOD10N signature guitar, and followed it with the FRH10N as a standard-production version of the same idea at a lower price point - bringing the same feedback-resistant nylon-string design to players who wanted the concept without a full signature-model price tag.
