About the Ibanez TMB100 Standard Talman Bass
The TMB100 borrows its asymmetric double-cutaway silhouette from the Talman guitar series, which Ibanez originally introduced in the 1990s as a retro-flavored alternative to its more angular production lines. Bodies built since 2018 use poplar rather than the mahogany of earlier production, paired with a bolt-on maple neck and a jatoba fingerboard (rosewood on pre-2018 examples) carrying 20 frets.
Electronics combine an Ibanez Dynamix P split single-coil at the neck with a Dynamix J single-coil at the bridge, run through an Ibanez custom preamp with 2-band EQ rather than left fully passive. That active circuit, together with the B10 bridge and open-gear tuners, positions the TMB100 as a budget-friendly, tonally flexible P/J bass distinct from Ibanez's more scooped-sounding SR series.

Sound character of the Ibanez TMB100 Standard Talman Bass
Pairing a Dynamix split-coil P-style pickup at the neck with a Dynamix single-coil J-style pickup at the bridge gives the TMB100 access to both the thicker, rounder thump of a P pickup and the brighter, more articulate bite of a J pickup, with the active 2-band EQ adding further shaping on top.
