Polyphia guitarist Tim Henson's nylon-string signature: an ultra-thin, soundhole-free hollowbody with solid Sitka spruce top and sapele back/sides, built to sit between an acoustic-electric nylon guitar and a solid-body electric.
About the Ibanez TOD10N Tim Henson Signature
The TOD10N takes an unconventional approach to the nylon-string format: rather than a traditional classical body, it uses a modified fan-braced hollowbody roughly 50mm thin, without a soundhole, aimed at controlling feedback at stage volume while retaining acoustic resonance. The top is solid Sitka spruce with sapele back and sides, and the bridge and fingerboard are both walnut - the fingerboard carrying Henson's distinctive "Tree of Life" pearloid inlay running its full length.
The neck is nyatoh with a C-shape profile, 22 frets and a wide 46mm nut suited to fingerstyle and tapping technique, both prominent in Henson's playing. Tuning is handled by gold classical-style tuners with a bone nut, and electronics combine Ibanez and Fishman circuitry to bring the nylon-string tone to a full-band, amplified setting - the guitar first appeared publicly in Polyphia's "Playing God" music video before its commercial release.

Sound character of the Ibanez TOD10N Tim Henson Signature
This is a soundhole-free, ultra-thin hollowbody rather than a resonant acoustic chamber, so it doesn't produce the boomy, overtone-rich sustain of a traditional classical - the solid Sitka spruce top and sapele back/sides shape the string's raw tone before it ever reaches the Fishman electronics, giving a tighter, more controlled, distinctly electric-leaning nylon voice built for amplified stage use.

The history of the Ibanez TOD10N Tim Henson Signature
Tim Henson, guitarist of the instrumental band Polyphia, built a following in the 2010s for blending nylon-string classical technique with modern rock and pop production. Ibanez developed the TOD10N ("Tim Of Death" being a recurring nickname among Henson's fans) as his first nylon-string signature model, designed from the ground up around his specific playing style rather than adapting an existing classical guitar shape.
