About the Peavey Cirrus 4 Active (Rosewood Fretboard, Tiger Eye)
The Cirrus 4 pairs two Peavey-designed VFL active humbucking pickups with an 18-volt preamp offering volume, pickup blend, bass, treble, and a sweepable mid control with 10 dB of boost/cut, giving considerably more tonal shaping range than a passive Precision- or Jazz-style bass. Construction uses a 35-inch scale, a maple neck with mahogany stringers, a rosewood fingerboard, and 24 frets, with a milled brass bridge allowing either top-loading or string-through-body stringing.
A distinguishing detail is the "Powerplate", a metal plate embedded into the back of the headstock intended to increase sustain and eliminate dead spots along the fingerboard. Combined with the extended-upper-horn body carve for balance on a strap and deep cutaway for full access to all 24 frets, the Cirrus 4 was positioned as Peavey's high-end response to boutique active-bass builders rather than a budget instrument.

Sound character of the Peavey Cirrus 4 Active (Rosewood Fretboard, Tiger Eye)
The Cirrus's neck-through construction (versus a bolt-on neck) improves sustain and resonance by keeping the string vibration coupled to the body without a joint interruption, while its active preamp offers wide-ranging EQ shaping - together giving a versatile, hi-fi modern tone rather than a single fixed character.
