About the Yamaha CG192C
The CG192C sits at the top of Yamaha's CG-series classical lineup, distinguished from the lower CG models mainly by tonewood and cosmetics rather than construction method: a solid Western red cedar top over rosewood back and sides, versus the spruce-over-mahogany or spruce-over-nato combinations on cheaper CG models. Rosewood carries more overtone complexity and projection than mahogany, which is part of why Yamaha reserves it for the range-topping model.
The neck is African mahogany with an ebony fingerboard - ebony rather than the rosewood fingerboards typical further down the range - at a 25.59-inch scale and 2.047-inch (52mm) nut width across 19 frets, with a rosewood bridge. Cosmetic upgrades mark the flagship status further: gold-plated tuning machines instead of nickel, a wood soundhole inlay, and mosaic body binding around the edges rather than plain trim.

Sound character of the Yamaha CG192C
The solid Western red cedar top responds quickly with a warm fundamental, and pairing it with rosewood back and sides adds rich overtone complexity and long sustain rather than the simpler tone mahogany would give - as Yamaha's CG flagship, it's voiced for a full, resonant concert tone.

The history of the Yamaha CG192C
Yamaha's CG series has run since the 1960s as the company's core classical guitar line, built in a mix of Yamaha's own factories and licensed production depending on model and era; the CG192C represents the top of that range's regular (non-custom) production tier.
