An active mid-range TRBX-series bass with a mass-optimized mahogany body and Yamaha's Performance EQ preamp offering multiple voiced curves rather than a simple 2-band circuit.
About the Yamaha TRBX304 Electric Bass Guitar
The TRBX304's solid mahogany body uses what Yamaha describes as a mass-optimized 3D design intended to balance tone, resonance and comfortable weight distribution rather than following a traditional flat-slab shape. The 5-piece maple-and-mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard keep the rest of the construction in line with typical mid-range production basses.
Electronics center on Yamaha's own M3 humbucking pickups with oversized ceramic-magnet polepieces, run through the brand's Performance EQ active circuit, which offers several preset-voiced EQ curves alongside a 2-band master equalizer rather than a single fixed active tone stack. That gives the TRBX304 a wider range of usable, pre-shaped tones from one control set than a conventional active 2-band or 3-band bass.

Sound character of the Yamaha TRBX304 Electric Bass Guitar
Yamaha's mass-optimized solid mahogany body is shaped to balance resonance and weight rather than following a flat traditional slab, and the pair of Yamaha M3 humbuckers with active Performance EQ pushes toward a fuller, warmer, higher-output tone than the passive single-coil pickups on Yamaha's own entry-level TRBX models.
