The Stratocaster-shaped entry in Fender's US-built Acoustasonic line: mahogany back and sides under a solid Sitka spruce top in a modified Strat outline, with a fully hollow SIRS body, a 5-way voice selector, and a built-in rechargeable battery.
About the Fender American Acoustasonic Stratocaster
The American Acoustasonic Stratocaster adapts the Stratocaster's familiar silhouette into a fully hollow body using Fender's patented Stringed Instrument Resonance System (SIRS), which employs transverse internal bracing to let the body resonate acoustically while resisting the feedback that would normally plague a hollow instrument at performance volume. The back and sides are mahogany, the top solid Sitka spruce, finished in a satin polyester matte rather than the gloss finish typical of solid-body Stratocasters.
The mahogany neck carries a Modern "Deep C" profile with an ebony fingerboard at a 12-inch radius, 22 narrow-tall frets and a Graph Tech TUSQ nut, at the standard 25.5-inch scale. Electronics are the same three-part Acoustic Engine as other American Acoustasonic models - Fishman under-saddle transducer, Fishman Acoustasonic Enhancer body sensor, and Fender's Acoustasonic Noiseless magnetic pickup - controlled via master volume, a "Mod" tone-shaping knob and a 5-way voice selector. A built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery powers the electronics for up to 20 hours per charge, removing the need to carry spare 9-volt batteries.

Sound character of the Fender American Acoustasonic Stratocaster
As the premium, US-made Acoustasonic tier, the American Acoustasonic Stratocaster produces a fuller, more resonant unplugged tone than the Player/Standard versions from its better solid-wood build, while the full Fishman Acoustic Engine blends that acoustic voice with the Stratocaster's single-coil tone via the mod knob across the widest range in the lineup.
