The largest-bodied model in Fender's US-built Acoustasonic line: an offset spruce-and-mahogany hollow body with Fender's patented SIRS resonance system, an ebony fingerboard, and a three-pickup Acoustic Engine.
About the Fender American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster
The American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster uses the largest body of the three American Acoustasonic shapes, built to produce a fuller acoustic tone with more low-end than the Telecaster or Stratocaster versions. The offset body combines spruce and mahogany in Fender's patented Stringed Instrument Resonance System (SIRS), engineered specifically to let the hollow body resonate acoustically while resisting the feedback that would normally plague a hollow body at stage volume. The mahogany neck carries an ebony fingerboard at a 12-inch radius with 22 frets, adding warmth to the guitar's overall voice.
Electronics are the same three-part Acoustic Engine concept as the Telecaster version - a Fishman under-saddle transducer, a Fishman Acoustasonic Enhancer body sensor, and Fender's Acoustasonic Shawbucker magnetic pickup - blended and voiced through a 5-way switch offering multiple modeled body/tonewood combinations. Like the rest of the American Acoustasonic range, it's built at Fender's Corona, California factory alongside the company's standard electric instruments.

Sound character of the Fender American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster
As the premium, US-made Acoustasonic tier, the American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster produces a fuller, more resonant unplugged tone than the Player/Standard versions thanks to better solid-wood construction, while its full Fishman Acoustic Engine still blends that acoustic voice with the Jazzmaster's offset single-coil tone via the mod knob for the widest range in the lineup.

The history of the Fender American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster
The American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster followed the original Acoustasonic Telecaster as Fender expanded the concept to other classic body shapes, offering players who preferred the offset Jazzmaster silhouette the same hybrid acoustic-electric functionality. Its larger body was a deliberate choice to give the line an option with more traditional dreadnought-like low-end presence than the comparatively compact Telecaster-shaped original.
