Fender's US-built flagship hybrid acoustic-electric: a mahogany-necked, chambered body driven by a three-part "Acoustic Engine" (Fishman under-saddle piezo, body sensor, and Fender's N4 noiseless magnetic pickup) blending ten modeled body/tonewood voicings via a 5-way switch.

About the Fender American Acoustasonic Telecaster

The American Acoustasonic Telecaster was Fender's first instrument built around the Acoustasonic concept, combining a genuinely resonant, chambered acoustic body with electric-guitar-style ergonomics and amplification. The mahogany neck uses a Modern "Deep C" profile with an ebony fingerboard at a 12-inch radius and 22 frets, joined to a body that is acoustically braced and voiced rather than simply a solid-body shell with a piezo bolted on.

The electronics, developed with Fishman, are the model's defining feature: a Fishman under-saddle transducer, a Fishman "Acoustasonic Enhancer" body sensor that captures the top's own resonance, and Fender's N4 noiseless magnetic pickup near the bridge for a clean electric voice. A 5-way blade switch selects among ten modeled combinations of body style and tonewood pairing, letting one instrument approximate the voice of several different acoustic guitar body shapes, blendable with the electric N4 tone at any setting.

Sound character of the Fender American Acoustasonic Telecaster

As the top Acoustasonic tier, made in the US with better solid-wood construction than the Player/Standard versions, the American Acoustasonic Telecaster gives a fuller, more resonant unplugged acoustic tone. Its full Fishman Acoustic Engine still lets players blend that acoustic voice continuously with the Telecaster's magnetic single-coil tone via the mod knob, offering the widest and most refined tonal range in the lineup.

The history of the Fender American Acoustasonic Telecaster

Fender introduced the American Acoustasonic Telecaster in 2019 after several years of development, describing it as an attempt to solve the long-standing problem of players needing to switch between separate acoustic and electric guitars mid-performance. Its reception established the Acoustasonic concept as commercially viable, leading Fender to expand the idea into the more affordable Player and Standard tiers and additional body shapes including the Jazzmaster and Stratocaster.
