Fender's second-generation Vintera reinterpretation of the 1960s Jazz Bass, built in Mexico with period-informed detailing at a more accessible price than the American Vintage II line.
About the Fender Vintera II '60s Jazz Bass
The Vintera II '60s Jazz Bass targets 1960s Jazz Bass specification: dual single-coil pickups, a slim neck profile relative to the Precision Bass, and vintage-informed cosmetic details such as period-correct headstock logo styling and pickguard shape. As part of the Vintera II generation, which replaced the original Vintera series with revised specifications and finish options, it sits below Fender's American Vintage II line in price while sharing the same general design target: distinct decades of Fender's bass history reissued at accessible Mexican-made price points.
Compared to Fender's current Player II mainstream line, the Vintera II series leans more heavily into decade-specific vintage cosmetics and spec details rather than modernized ergonomic updates, making it the more historically referential option within Fender's Mexican-made catalog.

Sound character of the Fender Vintera II '60s Jazz Bass
Like other '60s-spec Jazz Bass reissues, this model uses lower-output alnico single-coils and a slim vintage neck profile on an alder body, favoring warmth and midrange presence over the brighter, higher-output voicing of Fender's modern Jazz Bass lines.
