The acoustic-electric, figured-top sibling of the AUP10N: the same single-block paulownia back/sides construction topped with flamed maple instead of plain spruce, plus a full onboard preamp and undersaddle pickup.
About the Ibanez AUP10FMNE
The AUP10FMNE shares the AUP10N's distinctive body construction - back and sides routed from a single solid block of paulownia rather than bent and joined - but swaps the plain spruce top for flamed maple, adding a decorative grain pattern the plain-top AUP10N doesn't have, and adds real onboard electronics: an Ibanez undersaddle pickup feeding an AEQ2U preamp with a built-in tuner, rather than the AUP10N's fully acoustic build.
At the same 17-inch tenor scale, it keeps Ibanez's stereo sound port system (a secondary sound hole at the body waist alongside the main one) and the elevated armrest that keeps a player's forearm from damping the top's vibration against bare skin contact. Hardware is a purpleheart double-hole bridge and black die-cast tuners, with a bone nut and saddle; the electronics draw from a standard 9V-style battery compartment typical of acoustic-electric preamps.

Sound character of the Ibanez AUP10FMNE
Swapping the AUP10N's plain spruce top for flamed maple shifts the tone slightly brighter and more articulate, as maple's denser, harder structure tends to emphasize attack and note clarity over spruce's warmer sustain. The undersaddle pickup and preamp reproduce that brighter acoustic character faithfully rather than adding their own coloration.

The history of the Ibanez AUP10FMNE
The AUP10FMNE extends Ibanez's engineering-forward ukulele construction into stage-ready acoustic-electric territory, aimed at players who liked the AUP10N's build concept but need direct amplification and a more decorative top for performance use.
