About the Kala KA-ZCT-C

Ziricote is a hardwood with a reputation similar to rosewood - dense, resonant, and known for good note separation and a crisp attack - but with a more dramatic visual grain, ranging from marbled swirls to spiderweb-like patterns to peaks-and-valleys figuring, with no two instruments looking quite the same. The KA-ZCT-C uses figured ziricote for the entire body with contrasting blonde sapwood accents left visible, framed in black binding.

Construction otherwise follows Kala's standard concert-size formula: mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, die-cast closed-gear tuners with black buttons, and a Graph Tech NuBone nut and saddle. At the standard 14.8-inch concert scale with 18 frets, it's finished in gloss rather than satin to show off the wood's figuring, strung with Aquila Nylgut strings and fitted with a strap button, though no case is included.

Sound character of the Kala KA-ZCT-C

Ziricote is a dense hardwood in the same family as rosewood, known for crisp note separation and a clear, defined attack rather than the softer blend of tones a mahogany body produces - each note stays distinct even in fast strumming or picking.
