Squier's accessible interpretation of the original 1951-introduced Precision Bass concept, built to 1950s-spec cosmetics and a single-pickup layout at Squier's price point.
About the Squier Classic Vibe '50s Precision Bass
The Classic Vibe '50s Precision Bass targets the earliest Precision Bass specification: a single split single-coil pickup, blonde or two-tone sunburst period-correct finishes, and a maple neck with maple fingerboard rather than the rosewood boards found on later-decade Precision variants. This distinguishes it clearly from Squier's Classic Vibe '60s and '70s Precision Bass counterparts, which instead follow the rosewood-fingerboard, later hardware specifications of subsequent decades.
As part of Squier's Classic Vibe line, which applies decade-specific Fender vintage cosmetics and general spec direction at a fraction of the cost of Fender's own American Vintage II reissues, this model gives players access to the Precision Bass's original single-pickup voicing and 1950s-era aesthetic without requiring a step up to Fender-branded instruments.

Sound character of the Squier Classic Vibe '50s Precision Bass
The Classic Vibe '50s P-Bass uses a vintage-voiced single-coil split P pickup wound to emulate early-1950s output levels, deliberately lower and warmer than modern ceramic-pickup basses, on an alder/pine body - aiming for the deep, woody, understated thump of the earliest Precision Basses at an affordable price point.
