About the Cordoba C3M

The C3M is built to traditional Spanish classical proportions: a solid Western red cedar top over mahogany back and sides, with fan bracing beneath the top rather than the X-bracing used on steel-string acoustics. Body dimensions follow the classical standard - roughly 371mm lower bout, 100mm depth at the lower bout - with a mahogany neck at the classical-standard 650mm scale and 52mm nut width, C-shaped in profile, joined to a rosewood fingerboard across 19 frets.

Hardware is Cordoba's own tuning machines with pearl buttons, a bone nut and saddle, and Savarez Cristal Corum high-tension strings as stock equipment. The rosette is hand-inlaid wood rather than a printed decal, a detail Cordoba keeps even at this entry price point. The M in the name refers to the finish: a satin/matte topcoat rather than the gloss finish used on Cordoba's step-up C5 model, which lets more of the top's vibration through at the cost of a less polished look.

Sound character of the Cordoba C3M

The solid Western red cedar top responds quickly with a warm fundamental, and mahogany back and sides keep the overtone profile simple and focused rather than complex like rosewood - a thin satin finish also lets the top vibrate slightly more freely than a thick gloss coat, typical of Cordoba's entry-level traditional build.

The history of the Cordoba C3M

The C3M sits at the bottom of Cordoba's numbered C-series (C3 through C12), the brand's core lineup of Spanish-style classicals graded by tonewood and appointments rather than by body shape, and is commonly recommended as a first "real" classical guitar for students moving up from laminate beginner instruments.
